True Spirituality

We are all spiritual. Whether we embrace it or run from it, God has hard-wired spirituality into our DNA. We are living in a time where there is much intrigue and interest surrounding spiritual realities. Believers and non-believers alike are looking for ways to find spiritual meaning in their lives.

I am excited that you, coach, are joining me on this journey. As Dr. Billy Graham has stated, "one coach will influence more people in one year than the average person will do in a lifetime." The issue is: how will you influence them? What does it look like to be the kind of coach that has a huge impact and leaves a legacy? I really believe that these weeks together will bring TRUE spirituality into focus and help your next steps in being an authentic Christian coach.

Let's get started!

What should I do?

What is true spirituality?

The Struggle to Grow

Sometimes it seems like an endless struggle to live out our faith 24/7 - you may be struggling even now. Or maybe you feel pretty good about where you are spiritually, but you still want to grow more. So what can you do about it? We are all invited to follow Jesus, and His final command was, “go and make disciples.” That begs the questions – what does a healthy disciple look like, am I one, and if not – how can I be one?

Doing vs. Being

In today’s Christian culture, many Christians believe that a disciple is a person who tries hard, pulls up their boot straps, goes to church more often, reads their Bible more often, and engages in ever-increasing religious activities. That trend, sometimes called “cultural Christianity,” seems to indicate that being a disciple of Jesus Christ is more about what we do rather than who we are. Does this sound like “true spirituality” to you?

Real Relationship

Being a genuine disciple of Christ flows out of relationship with Him. It’s about experiencing God’s grace, not earning His love through performance. A real relationship with Jesus Christ will produce a follower whose life looks progressively more like His life. Romans Chapter 12 provides a relational profile of an authentic disciple. Christians who live out this kind of lifestyle are what we call r12 (Romans 12) Christians. Take a moment to read Romans 12, then ask yourself the question…am I r12?

Real Disciples

r12 Christians were the types of disciples that turned the world upside down in the first century church. Throughout history, God has a track record of using ordinary people to do extraordinary things. So, He can use you - even more - starting just as you are. He's willing to go deeper and grow you into a real disciple... are you ready?
